Top Chef Finale Preview

            Top Chef: Seattle will approch the final episode of this season as Kristen Kish squares off against Brooke Williamson. These two chefs will face each other this Wednesday, the 27^th in a culinary stadiumwhere winner takes all.

In its tenth season, the season finale format will consist of the two chefs preparing a five-course meal on the fly while the judges will speculate their cooking. Also, a studio audience that includes the chefs’ friends and previous winners of the show will be watching closely from the sidelines. For the very first time in a Top Chef finale, the judges will name the winners of each course as they are being served. This would mean that one of these chefs could win before they even get to the final course, the dessert. Host Padma Lakshmi said that both chefs are evenly matched when you compare the two on paper. She later stated that the one factor that separates them is their cooking styles so this finale could come down to the wire.

One of these chefs will win the show’s grand prize of $125,000, be featured in Food & Wine magazine as well as having their own showcase at the Food & Wine Classic located in Aspen, Colorado. One of the biggest prizes that the winner will receive however is popularity that could propel them into the mainstream world of cooking. Based on the career success of the previous winners on this show, winning the Top Chef Title would be a huge asset for any chef to have on his or her résumé.
