I don't have to tell you....one of a parent's biggest fears is when your child is hurt...or worse.

My ten year old daughter was lucky.  While roller skating at a birthday party last weekend, she broke her leg.  I had no idea until we went to the emergency room at the closest hospital near us.  I'll never forget trying to keep it together and reassure her everything would be alright, while wanting to fall apart myself when the orthopedic surgeon gave us the news.  She is in one of those hi-tech boots for 8 weeks and (hopefully) ok enough to go back to school Monday.

Almost one week later, I can talk about this experience.  Plus, I can ask other parents who have gone through similar circumstances what did you learn or do that made life easier for your child...and for your family.  If that's you and you happen to be reading this, please let me know!
