First Responders Memorial To Be Dedicated Wednesday

Ceremony Is Open To The Public

The Texas Panhandle First Responders Memorial is officially dedicated during a special ceremony Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. at 1018 South Polk in downtown Amarillo. The Memorial pays tribute to 110 fallen first responders representing 50 agencies across the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle.

Years in the making, the Memorial stands as a lasting tribute to their courage, service, and sacrifice. It also serves as a place of reflection for their families, fellow first responders, and the communities whose lives they touched.

The dedication ceremony will feature a combined Honor Guard comprised of first responders from agencies across the region, coming together in a powerful display of unity, respect, and remembrance. The ceremony will also include a bagpiper performing “Taps” and “Amazing Grace,” a 21-gun salute, and the traditional firefighter’s Last Alarm, known as the 5-5-5. One of the most meaningful moments will be the ceremonial calling of the names of all 110 fallen heroes, ensuring that each individual is recognized, honored, and remembered.

The dedication, which takes place on National First Responders Day, offers an opportunity for the entire Texas Panhandle to come together, honor its heroes, and ensure their legacies are never forgotten.
