New York State health officials are urging people to get a flu shot due to a dramatic increase in flu cases state wide and on Long Island in recent weeks.
Nassau County saw an 87% jump in confirmed cases the week before Christmas for a total of 4,348 cases this flu season. Suffolk County saw a 119% jump over the same period with a current total of 4,063 flu cases.
