Suffolk officer who was stabbed released from hospital

The Suffolk police officer who was slashed and stabbed while apprehending an alleged car thief has been released from the hospital.

Police responded to a call around 12:26 a.m. Tuesday regarding two men wearing hoodies and breaking into cars in Amity Harbor. One of the men slashed the office who was rushed to the hospital after a fellow officer applying a tourniquet. Both of the suspects have been arrested.
