A Hempstead Town hearing is set for Tuesday on rezoning the Nassau Coliseum site to would allow casino.
The proposed rezoning was requested by Las Vegas Sands in its Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Las Vegas Sands announced last month that it will not seek a casino license from New York State to build a new gaming resort on the county-owned site, but the company is seeking a third party to take over its bid.
