Stop & Shop to Close 2 Long Island Delivery Facilities in October

Stop & Shop will close its East Northport and Riverhead grocery delivery “warerooms” in October as part of a plan to shut seven sites across the Northeast. The company says online delivery will continue through its Farmingdale and Medford facilities, and drivers at the closing sites will remain employed. The closures come as the supermarket chain nears a new contract deal with the union representing delivery drivers.
