Friday, starting at 3pm, join KJOY 98.3\’s John Tesh for a 6-hour Facebook Fundraiser to benefit healthcare workers on Long Island.

John, along with Connie Sellecca and their son Gib, aim to raise money via a GoFundMe page, with 100% of the proceeds being used to build care packages that will be distributed to healthcare providers working on front lines in hospitals on Long Island, and across the country.

“We polled a number of hospitals to find out what these doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals need the most, and at the top of everyone’s list are food delivery gift cards for them and their families, as well as items like protein bars, lip balm and soothing lavender hand lotion. They are also in need of iPads/tablets, so patients can communicate with their loved-ones and communicate with nurses without having to contaminate the nurse’s PPE,” said Connie Sellecca. “John, Gib and I are so grateful to each and every one of them; we wanted to do something to help.”

Each hour of the program will feature interviews with hospital personnel and up-close-and-personal stories from the frontlines with the healthcare workers themselves. Throughout the broadcast, John will also share the latest pandemic coping tips from the Intelligence for Your Life radio show on KJOY 98.3.

Says Tesh, “Having spent three years in and out of hospitals during my treatment for cancer several years ago, Connie and I can both tell you that these healthcare workers are tireless in their compassion and relentless pursuit of healing. They are warriors and we are grateful to have this opportunity to honor them.”
