Teens rescued after boat capsized in Peconic

Riverhead, NY- Two teenagers were rescued Wednesday after their boat capsized in the Peconic Bay. Riverhead Police say they received a call around 3pm about an overturned boat in the Peconic with two people in the water. Upon arrival, Riverhead PD Marine Unit discovered a 13 foot Boston Whaler with two children in the water. The children, ages 16 and 15, were pulled from the water and transported to the Meeting House Creek Marina where they met up with their parents. The children were said to be uninjured. The boat was up-righted and towed back to the marina.
