Police are investigating a road rage incident on the Long Island Expressway

Suffolk police are investigating a road rage confrontation on the Long Island Expressway that happened between exits 63 and 64, around 10 p.m. Wednesday night

Two vehicles got off the LIE at exit 63 and stopped for a light. A man got out of his vehicle, approached the other car and reached into the open back window, struggled with one of the passenger cutting his throat.

The woman driving the car speed off until she got to a City MD where she sought help. Her passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to be OK.

The attacker, meanwhile, got back into his car and drove off.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
