A full-service casino and resort could be coming to Nassau County.
The New York Gaming Facility Location Board voted on Tuesday to open up the application process for three downstate casinos.
Las Vegas Sands, a Nevada-based casino and resort company, has been eyeing possible locations to open a casino on the Island. There have been talks about building one as part of the Nassau Hub project in Uniondale.
Another possible location mentioned was at the UBS Arena at Belmont Park.
The Gaming Commission will have the final say where the casinos will go.
