Authorities say on Wednesday afternoon, a masked man entered the Bank of America on Post Avenue in Westbury, slipped the teller a note demanding money and threatened the use of a weapon. When the teller walked away, he ran out the back without any money. No weapon was used, and no one inside the bank was harmed.
The bank was the latest target in a series of attempted bank robberies around Nassau County this week. Two similar robbery attempts occurred on Tuesday.
Nassau police are asking anyone with information to contact crime stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
