LIPA has proposed a new Time-of-Day rates plan that it says would help customers save money and support clean energy.
Peak hours would only be from 3-7 p.m. on weekdays.
LIPA says customers would still have the option to stay on a flat rate.
Long Island Power Authority customers can submit written questions and comments about the proposal to LIPA through Feb. 27. It will vote on the plan in March. If approved the plan would go into effect in 20243
