Suffolk police help deliver baby on the L.I.E.

Suffolk police officers helped deliver a baby on the Long Island Expressway early Sunday morning.

They responded to a report of a woman in labor on the side of the LIE around 2 a.m. They found the woman and her husband on the shoulder near the Sagtikos Parkway exit

Brentwood paramedics assisted the officers to deliverer a baby girl just 30 minutes later. Both the mother and the baby were then taken to the hospital in good condition.
