Nassau Police say officers shot an armed man who was threatening them at a Hempstead apartment early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a call about a violent man, when they arrived at an apartment a man began yelling at the officers, saying he had a knife and a gun and threatened to shoot them.
The suspect holding the knife, moved toward the officers in a threatening manner, one of the officers shoot once, striking him in the upper torso.
He was arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition and will be arraigned when medically practical.
