Long Island Rail Road is adding service for the extended Independence Day holiday weekend

The Long Island Rail Road is adding service for riders traveling during the extended Independence Day holiday weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, the LIRR will operate a regular schedule, with two additional trains on Friday from Penn Station, including the 2:55 p.m. train to Ronkonkoma and the 2:38 p.m. train to Babylon.

Friday also includes the operation of the Cannonball, the popular express train to the Hamptons.

Monday will operate on a summer Friday schedule and includes Cannonball service.

On Tuesday, the LIRR will operate a summer Sunday schedule.

On Wednesday, the LIRR will operate on a regular schedule.
