A 5-year-old kindergartener was able to walk out of Forest Lake Elementary in Wantagh, undetected, and walked nearly a third of a mile to his house
It was the boy parents who learned he had left school when they got a notification on their Ring camera.
They later learned their son asked to use the bathroom, was allowed to go by himself, and that’s when he left the school through a side door and walked all the way home.
A neighbor saw the boy walking by himself and became concerned. He walked with the boy to his house, when he saw no one was home he called 911.
