Scammers take $240K for home repairs that were never completed

Nassau County Police are searching for two suspects who claimed to be masonry worker and scammed a 70-year-old Elmont man out of almost $240,000 for work that they never completed.
The two men visited the victim’s home and said they were willing to do construction on the victim’s house that needed repairs.
The victim eventually suspected the scam, and contacted police. The investigation is ongoing.
