A mother was arrested Wednesday for leaving a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old child alone in a car while she was shopping at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.
Officers were able to get both children out of the car safely. They were taken to a hospital to get checked out, and police say they are going to be OK.
Police have not released the name of the mother.
