Nassau County police held a press conference Wednesday to discuss security for the Cricket World Cup after a potential terror threat was made against the event taking place at Eisenhower Park in a few days.
The possible threat mentions the date June 9, when the India-Pakistan match is scheduled to be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman says 100 additional police officers will be added for the event. Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said “To date, there are no credible threats to the tournament,” and that “The Nassau County Police Department continues to monitor the situation and we are proactively deploying resources to maintain safety.”
