The 40th MTV Video Music Awards took place at UBS Arena with Taylor Swift leaving the night on top. Taylor had the most nominations (12) and won seven of them, including Video of the Year for “Fortnight” with Post Malone. This is the third year in a row Taylor has won Video of the Year, earning the moonperson trophy for “Anti-Hero” last year and “All Too Well” the year before. Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, did not join her at the awards, but he did get a “thank you.” Taylor now ties Beyonce for the record for most VMAs ever won by an artist; they each have 30!

Katy Perry accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, performing an incredible medley of her biggest hits.
